Children with disabilities.
So to start off with when i was reading chapter 6 i realized that i was looking in to my step-sons life who happens to have ADHD. I did not know that in the early before 1980 this condition was named hyperactive child syndrome they happen to renamed it to Attention-Deficit Hyperactive disorder in the 1980.
Child who are diagnosed with ADHD are often hyperactive, inattention and impulsivity. My son experiences these symptoms on a daily bases it happens to be very hard for him to make friends to focus at school and even at home you can not just tell him once you have to tell him a million times (this is how it feels to me) he was at one point failing at school and was getting in a lot of trouble. My husband and I began to think it was our doing and that maybe we weren't putting in enough time with him with his school work. However that was not the case and we had to take action and help him to be the person that he could be and that was a bright and intelligent boy. We ended up going to a psychologist to get him help and they ended up putting him on Ritalin to help pay attention and to help him better in his school. This was the best thing for him he went from failing in school to exceeding. He has lots of friends and loves life he now only has to be told a couple of time to do something how. However not all children need to be medicated it can be controlled with diet and help.

Adapting to and Exploring the Environment ( Week 3 )
My Perspective on Weeks 3 reading.
When reading week 3's chapters i realized that we all will adapt and explore things in our environment differently. Today when watching my 3 and 6 year old's at the park they were interested in many different things i tried to get their interest in the same thing but it would not work. I noticed when they were playing because of the difference in ages they were totally on different levels of thinking. My son is really outgoing and wants to try anything however my daughter is very cautious and does not like to go out of her comfort zone. With reading Piagets theory i learned that all children learn at different times and we have to be the ones to show them not tell them how to do things. Children learn by showing how things are done and then the correspond with what you are showing them in different ways. Children look at things in a different way then teens and adults do. However i think even teens and adults look at things differently and that was not said so i don't know if i miss understood the theory but if you have any thoughts on this please feel free to tell me what you think.

Physical Development
I wanted to talk a little more about my children and maybe see if there are other people out there dealing with the same if not similar situations as I am.
I have always wondered why my 6 years old is different from
my 3 years old. The reason I ask this question all the time is because my 6
year old boy is 36 lbs. and only 42 inches tall and in the 5th percentile for
all of his weight, height and speech as well he talks like a 3 year old. (Speech
Delay witch he has had since he began to talk) Now on the other hand my 3 year
old girl is 35 lbs. and 39 inches tall and in the 70th percentile and talks
perfectly. Why is it that they are so different if they eat the exact same diet
and have grown up the say way? These have been stumping our doctors and family
for almost 5 years because when he was an infant he was in the 60th percentile
and was perfectly healthy and nothing wrong with him at all till he hit about 1
year to a 1.5 years of age is when he stopped gaining weight and has put
on very little since we have tried high fat diets and high
calorie drinks and nothing not a single difference. They have done test after
test on him and nothing has come back different they say that he is normal.
However, that is not the case he happens to have a speech delay and they
thought that this could be a factor in the lack of body growth but they have
done test on the brain and nothing has come up. He is a very smart boy was
walking by 1 and following all the other motor skills needed he is
amazing at the computer, video games and loves to ride his bike. This
just happens to be one of the many things that I have questions about
there are a lot more that have been unanswered in my sons life however
he is a happy and thriving little boy in everything he does.

Chapter 1: study of human development.
I decided to do something a little different and provide you with something that had stumped me for a while and reading this makes me would if it is true or not.
These things caught my
eye of interest:
- Life Cycle: Timing is everything!
A life cycle what would that mean to you? I agree with what they are
saying. They say that the life cycle of a married or an unmarried women with
child will have a different outcome of life why would this make
a difference I think that I have learned from this take my son for
instance he was not planned nor was I married however I had a stable income and
a home to live in I was out of school and living on my own, what would have
made this situation better was another person to help with the child which I
did not have at the time. It was very had to try and raise him going to work
full time and trying to be the best mom to my son I could be. However after
meeting my husband, we got married and had our daughter about 2 years later we
had a stable home. I then became a stay
at home mom and I was able to give my daughter what I was not able to give my
son in the beginning. Now they are at two different stages however
my son is still at the mental age of three. Now I know that none of this may be
true but what if I was stable and had a husband, a home, and I was a stay at
home mom would that had made a difference to his disability or would
have made no difference at all? Now to you what does timing mean to you?
